Emma's jewellery is inspired by the beauty of the organic world. Pods, seeds and colourful vibrant flowers such as orchids and irises influence her work, reflected in their delicate appearance and striking hues. Textures and forms in silver are derived from dried pods, natural surfaces and antique buttons discovered on her walks in the countryside and and forrays into markets. These are then used either to form the jewellery directly or to create texture plates. Aside from silver and wire mesh Emma uses raw silk fibres which have been dyed and nylon to create her jewellery via a unique process she has developed herself over several years or research and development. A particular feature of her jewellery is her use of magnetic fastenings in her headpieces which means they can also be used as brooches or attached to scarves or hats.
